The IVAO GB Division are pleased to announce that a real world meet up will be taking place at the Imperial War Museum - Duxford on Sunday 11th January 2009. We will be meeting outside the main entrance of the visitor centre at around 10:00am. This event is open to anyone who wishes to come along and as always, the more the merrier, however due to legal reasons it is important that if you are under the age of 18, a brief email should be sent to gb-mac@ivao.aero from your parents or guardian stating that you are permitted to attend.
Duxford is located just to the south of Cambridge and is easily accessible via Stansted Airport and also junction 10 of the M11. A map of the general area can be found here:
http://duxford.iwm.org.uk/server/show/nav.00d002001
Admission fees to the museum are:
Adult (person aged 16-59 years) £16.00
Senior, aged 60 years and over £12.80
Student, (requires valid card) £12.80
However if we can get more than 10 people to attend, then we can take advantage of the group discount offer which will mean that adult prices go down to £12.80 per adult.
Duxford has a lot to offer in terms of displays and exhibitions, with more than 180 aircraft on show as well as countless other military vehicles and maritime vessels, it will surely not be a wasted day with so much to see. There are also a number of food and drink outlets around the museum, so at some point during the day we will make time to stop for dinner. The main restaurant is open between the hours of 10:00 and 15:30.
For more information regarding the Museum itself and what's on offer please go to the Imperial War Museum website at:
